Moseley Ashfield Cricket Club

Moseley Ashfield Cricket Club in Birmingham are the proud owners of a new double bay cricket practice facility at their second ground. Unlike previous projects the club researched the products available in the market and decided the Verde Sports Cricket range best met their needs.

In order to get the exact product they required a specification was compiled and put out to tender to suitably experienced contractors so that competitive like for like quotations could be obtained. Verde Sports Cricket then oversaw the project on behalf of the club to ensure compliance with the specification.

Groundcare Sports Services were the successful contractor and works commenced with the levelling of the area to reduce the gradient.

In addition to the surfaces, frame and netting the open nature of the ground meant a secure perimeter fence was essential to protect the facility and an 8 6-8 weldmesh system was include at a height of 3.00m.

The finished installation consists of an enclosed area measuring 34.00 x 9.40m. Batting and bowling ends were installed with one of each Premier and Test Match base system and Superverde surfaces to provide a variation in performance in the lanes. Verdegrass 14 was laid around the ends and an 18.30 x 7.32 x 3.60m frame erected.
