Putting Green to Portugal - Buildbase Wakefield

That old adage “Driving for show, putting for dough” may well have crossed the mind of a recent customer who visited Tony Martin at his Wakefield branch  during the tail end of 2016. Unperturbed (and quite possibly encouraged) by the bleak Yorkshire winter, he popped into branch to enquire about the possibility of ordering a 150 sq.m artificial putting surface to be sent to his villa in Carvoeiro – which is at the southernmost tip of Portugal.

 

Tony knows the Verde range of products extremely well, and knew that Super Verdeturf would be absolutely ideal for the customer’s  purposes. Being artificial, the putting surface would require minimal maintenance between visits, and if necessary would provide all-weather play as well.  Tapes and glues, plus 9 hole cups and flags incorporating ball retrievers (also supplied by Verde), completed the customer’s project. Now, how to get it there… ?!!!

 

Liasing with the branch and the customer’s fitter, Verde also arranged the transport to get the 4m rolls over 1700 miles to their destination, by a dedicated courier, in advance of the fitter’s arrival.

 

From inception to completion,  the customer was kept fully briefed on progress and has since reported back to Tony that he is “absolutely over the moon with the product”. What fabulous testimony to a ‘Can Do’ branch and a ‘Can Do’ supplier.
