Wear It Pink - Verde help to raise awareness of Breast Cancer

On Friday 24th October, most of the Verde team wore something pink to work, joining hundreds of thousands of people who took part in a Wear it Pink day, and making a donation to the Breast Cancer Campaign.

We also held a successful cake sale to help raise even more money for the charity. Natalie & Beth baked cakes, as well as other members of staff providing pink bonbons, pink lollies, pink lemonade, chocolate and other cakes, to get in the spirit! The items were on display in the front office for staff and any visitors to enjoy as they made a donation in the collection tin. The sale proved very popular with staff, in particular the warehouse men, who have never been to the front office as many times in a week, never mind a day!!!

In addition, we also donated 25% of all Pink Groovy Grass sales during the month of October.

In total, Verde Sports event raised an impressive £665.03 for the charity.

Breast Cancer is still the most common cancer and claims the lives of 12,000 women and 50,000 more are diagnosed every year.

Well Done to everyone who took part and donated to this worthy cause.
