R6. British Championships - FatCat Moto Parc - 10th July 2022

TOUGH DAY AT ROUND 6 OF THE BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS

REVO BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS – R6 – FATCAT MOTO PARC – 10th JULY 2022

Round 6 of the Revo British Championship saw the team travel to FatCat Moto Parc, Doncaster. The sun shone all weekend and the stage was set for a physical days racing for all of the riders.

We only had Bailey riding this weekend, with Jake having surgery on his broken collar bone last week. Both Jake and Kyle joined the team over the weekend, and it was great to see the three of them back together.

PRO MX2:

BAILEY JOHNSTON:

QUALIFICATION:

Bailey soon got into the flow of the sandy circuit, improving each time he went on quick laps. His seventh lap was his quickest, putting himself in 14th place at the end of the qualifying session.

MX2 RACE 1:

An average start for Bailey in race one saw him lose a few places coming around the first turn but he soon got his head down and started making passes, moving himself up to 13th place. After a few laps Bailey made a mistake and dropped down to 18th place. With some solid riding and quick passes he moved himself back up to 13th place. Two thirds of the way through the race Bailey made another small error which set him back to 17th place and this is where he would place at the chequered flag.

MX2 RACE 2:

A similar start in race two for Bailey, quickly moving himself up to 15th place. Unfortunately Bailey’s race would be cut short due to very bad blistering on his left hand that appeared from race one and found himself in too much pain to hold onto the handlebars.

OVERALL:

Overall Bailey showed some great speed and determination on a tough track, in scorching heat. Still plenty to work on but showing improvements all of the time.

QUOTE FROM TEAM MANAGER, ADRIAN KIRK:

A lot of positives to take away from the weekend. Was really good to have Kyle back under the awning joining both Jake and Bailey throughout the weekend.
