R3. MX Nationals - Oxford Moto Parc - 9th July 2023

 

MX NATIONALS – R3 – OXFORD MOTO PARC – 9th JULY 2023 

The third round of the MX Nationals took the team to Oxford Moto Parc, a fantastic venue situated on MOD land.

 

The track was in great shape, despite heavy downpours.

 

BAILEY JOHNSTON: 

 

QUALIFICATION: 

Bailey soon found his flow around the track and was looking good, putting a solid time on the board. He managed to improve slightly later in the session and would finish qualifying in eighth place. 

 

MX2 RACE 1: 

Bailey didn’t get the best of starts and lost ground, but soon got his head down and worked his way up to eighth place. In the later stages of the race, Bailey took a big tumble over one of the jumps but he managed to nurse his bike home and finish in tenth place.

 

MX2 RACE 2: 

Bailey didn’t get a great start in race two either, completing the first lap in ninth place. This is where he would spend most of the race before he managed to make up a couple of places late on to finish in seventh.

 

OVERALL:

P10-P7 for 9^th overall. Unfortunately, Bailey has moved down to fifth in the championship, but it is still all very close at the top.

Tough day, and not the results we wanted. We now have a few weeks off before the next round, so we will work hard to get back up to the sharp end.
