HIGHS AND LOWS AT ROUND 4 OF THE BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS

REVO BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS – R4 – BLAXHALL – 28th May 2023

The fourth round of the British Championships took the team over to Blaxhall. We always look forward to this event on the calendar as the Woodbridge club always put on a good event.

JAKE MILLWARD:

QUALIFICATION:

Jake’s first quick lap saw him move to tenth on the leaderboard. With a bit of patience and finding his flow around the track, he soon moved his way up to sixth place. Despite a couple of more attempts to improve on his time, he didn’t manage to improve and sixth is where he would sit at the chequered flag.

MX2 RACE 1:

Jake didn’t get the best of starts, being just inside the top 15. He soon put his head down and started moving up the leaderboard. As the race went on Jake was finding great speed and flow around the circuit and he managed to move up to fifth place. With just a few laps left of what was set to be a solid race, Jake made a little mistake and got caught up in an incident that resulted in him suffering a laceration to his arm and a fractured elbow. As a result, his weekend ended early and he missed race two.

QUOTE FROM JAKE MILLWARD:

A big off, getting caught up with my bike, left me with a laceration to my arm, some tendon damage and a fractured elbow. Thank you to everyone for the messages.

BAILEY JOHNSTON:

QUALIFICATION:

Bailey soon got his head down and started finding his flow around the track. His quickest time would see him sit 19th on the leaderboard and the chequered flag.

MX2 RACE 1:

Bailey didn’t get the best of starts but soon found himself moving up the leaderboard and managed to move himself up to 16th place. Pushing all the way to the end, he managed to move himself up to 14th place at the finish.

MX2 RACE 2:

Bailey got a much better start in race two seeing him inside the top 15. He road a good solid race holding his own and managed to bring it home in twelfth place.

QUOTE FROM BAILEY JOHNSTON:

Decent weekend in the bag. Not quite where I want to be position wise but we will get there soon.

QUOTE FROM TEAM MANAGER, ADRIAN KIRK:

A solid day for Bailey showing some decent results. Absolutely gutted to see Jake down and injure himself, we wish him a speedy recovery.
