DYLAN DOES GOOD AT ROUND 5 OF THE MX NATIONALS

MX NATIONALS – R5 – HAWKSTONE PARK– 3rd SEPTEMBER 2023

The fifth and final round of the 2023 MX Nationals took the team to the iconic Hawkstone Park circuit. The sun was shining and the track was in great shape. The stage was all set for an epic weekend of racing.

DYLAN WOODCOCK:

QUALIFICATION:

Dylan soon put his head down and found his flow around the track. His first flying lap put him into fourth place on the board. He struggled to improve on this time and in the later stages of the session would drop down to fifth place but it was still a good solid start to the day for Dylan.

MX2 RACE 1:

Dylan got an average start in race one but soon made his way through the pack and was sitting in sixth place. Finding his grove and with some smart riding, he moved his way up to third place. Dylan rode a good solid race and third is where he was placed at the finish.

MX2 RACE 2:

Dylan didn’t get a great start and had a bit of work to do, but soon got down to business moving himself to fourth place. Towards the end of the race he dropped down to fifth place and this is where he would place at the finish after another good solid race.

OVERALL:

P3-P5 for third overall. A fantastic day for Dylan, his first ever Pro Podium.

BAILEY JOHNSTON:

QUALIFICATION:

Bailey soon put his head down and put his quickest time on the board. He struggled to improve on this and after a few attempts would finish twelfth at the end of the session.

MX2 RACE 1:

Not a great start for Bailey in race one, and as the race settled, he found himself in sixteenth place. Riding a solid race he managed to move up to fifteenth place, this is where he would finish.

MX2 RACE 2:

A better start for Bailey in race two saw him settled in 11th place. Unfortunately at the midpoint of the race, Bailey had a big crash and went down hard. Unfortunately, he would come away with an injury and a DNF.

OVERALL:

P15-DNF for seventeenth overall.

QUOTE FROM TEAM MANAGER, ADRIAN KIRK:

Gutted to see Bailey come away from Hawkstone injured and end his season early, and we wish him a speedy recovery. Over the moon to see Dylan take third overall and be part of his first Pro Podium finish.
